Short Term - Mission Trip

Short-term Service: Encounter Missions

God is doing amazing things in the republic of Georgia , and you can be part of it. Short-term trips are an ideal first encounter with missions or for anyone who wants to put their passions to work on a grander scale. Likewise, a person, two persons , youth groups, college groups, or small groups can spend a couple of weeks intentionally serving and learning about God from others of a Georgian culture. No matter your vocation or stage in life, going on a one to two-week trip with a group of people is an impactful experience.

Missions on a Team

If you are willing to expand your worldview in a place where God is working, consider joining a short-term missions team. Whether it is your church, your school, your friends, or your family who are ready to serve in missions, we want to help you intersect your passions and God’s best for you.

Team trips can be customized to suit your group’s specific interests and skills. So, if you want to do a construction project, lead a Vacation Bible School program, play soccer with orphans, explore your calling in missions, or do something completely different, there’s a place for you on a team!

Opportunities for Individuals

Are you an individual looking to join a team? SC puts together teams of individuals who are interested in a short-term mission trip, but don’t otherwise have a team to join. Make life-long friends as your serve Christ, shoulder-to-shoulder with others who have the same passions and interests as you do.

We are always putting together short-term teams that serve in various locations around the world. Perhaps you’re looking to serve in a specific location or a certain ministry. Explore our current opportunities.

“It was on my first short-term trip that I saw something truly amazing before me. I saw a reflection of myself in the people I met.”

  • What’s the difference between a one-time gift and recurring support?
When missionaries undertake the major step of serving the Lord in faith on their fields of service, they need dedicated ministry partners who support their efforts to forward the Great Commission. Recurring financial support enables missionaries to plan more effectively while helping you, their ministry partner, plan your giving on a regular basis. One-time gifts help missionaries with incidental expenses and emergencies.

  • I’m interested in supporting a missionary. How will my gift be used?
Before missionaries leave for their ministry locations, they recruit ministry partners who commit to supporting their ministry on a regular basis. Recurring financial gifts go toward: Salary: food, clothing, and other personal needs, including student loans Field Fund: housing and utilities; travel expenses; upkeep and work on Mission-owned properties; field conferences, administration, and audits; and distribution of The Call Retirement: living expenses during the sunset years Support Ministries: services provided at Samaritan Compassion, including receipting and forwarding funds, assisting with the development of the missionary’s ministry team, and recruiting volunteers and new missionaries Medical: medical care and life insurance for missionaries and their families Ministry Team Development: expenses of homeland ministry assignment—when missionaries visit current ministry partners and enlist new team members Contingency Fund: enables quick action when unexpected emergencies happen When missionaries move to the field for the first time, additional expenses include a ministry vehicle or other supplies, shipping costs, and language study.
