Seasonal famine and malnutrition are common problems among many families in African rural villages. Extended dry seasons with no rains result in low production or total loss. Many families are forced to subsist on a single meal a day.
The FAITH Gardens program trains villagers in permaculture gardening techniques to produce the maximum amount of produce in a 12.5 f00t x 25 foot garden. FAITH Gardens utilize a single bucket drip irrigation system and emphasizes growing a standard set of high-nutrition vegetables and fruits using good gardening practices.
